Keep Running

I was already in the process of writing my blog "Keep Running,” when a friend handed me a DVD to listen to of a young preacher, age seventeen named Reggie Shaw. The topic of his message was “Running The Race.” I decided to incorporate some of his points, which are in quotations in my devotional.

I Once was Lost

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found twas blind but now I see.

Whose Will is it Anyway?

I have had many conversations about our human will. It amazes me the way God keeps getting a bum rap because of the choices we make (Proverbs 19:3). Have you ever decided to do something that didn’t turn out the way you expected and you said, “Well it was God’s will for this to happen”? Read More...

Has Life Rocked Your World?

Have you ever had something come into your life and shake the very fibers of your being? Just like a hurricane comes in with strong winds and blows over trees and knocks down houses and you feel overwhelmed, or floods rush in and you find yourself sinking into despair or maybe lightening has struck in your heart and paralyzed you with fear. Did your Moment Wear Off Like Cheap Paint?

Or did His  Impact Leave  A  Lasting Impression?

Christ impacted the world. From the day HE was born people’s lives changed, starting with His parents. Today I want to know, whose life has changed since you’ve been born again? Hmmm.

What is Your Fruit?

Have you ever found yourself daydreaming or just sitting and complaining about what you don’t have? That could be…that I have not a spouse, have not children, have not a Mercedes or Lexus or five-bedroom house…I think you get the point.  Even though Philippians 2:14 says, “Do everything without complaining and arguing.”

Who Holds the Hammer?

Have you ever been crucified? Maybe not on a wooden cross plunged into the ground at Golgotha on a hill in Jerusalem, but maybe you have been beaten, abused, slandered, stripped of your dignity, raped, etc. I believe to one degree or another all of us have suffered at the hand of someone else.  Can you think back to how you felt when these troubles came? Some of us don’t have to think too far back

Salt, Please

How many of you like the taste of salt? I think it would be safe to say that most everyone enjoys the flavor of salt. I know there are some people with high blood pressure who may no longer get to safely enjoy the flavor of salt and have to use salt substitutes or no salt at all. For those who can’t have salt right now, I just have to ask you to remember back when you could enjoy salt on your food.

Is Your Walk Worthy?

Where do you find your encouragement and your examples for walking out a life worthy of being called a Christian? Don't tell me...the Bible, right? Good, that is always the best place to go. You know what I think is interesting--that back when Christ walked the earth...see HE had a walk it out too. HE encouraged others not to "just" be called Christians, but to go and make disciples, Matthew 28:19. I love how Francis Chan put it, "Some people believe that we can be Christians without being disciples.
